Parco Studio's profile

Laboratorio Permanente

UI/UX
Ten years after the foundation of their architecture studio in Milan, Nicola Russi and Angelica Sylos Labini decide to build a new image of Laboratorio Permanente.

Parco has worked building the digital space in a way that could be experienced almost physically, a quiet space where to look for the right content.

In the homepage projects are organized as an archive, a list of contents that are first presented with just the title and a little visual information that give the user the feeling of running a finger along the book’s spines.
The visual language is minimal and impactful at the same time. Typography is used to clearly communicate the hierarchy of different content and to drive the user across all of them. The overall feeling places Laboratorio Permanente as an international practice. A timeless look that reminds of the Swiss Style with a contemporary twist to portrait a firm that can be proud of its experience while looking forward for new challenges.
We created an image-driven experience that shows different stripes of the project archive. The project name, category and intro are shown in the visual profile and then hidden to allow an overview of the whole studio production.
The website portrays 360° contemporary architecture studio, by dividing up into two sections: the first one about work and projects, and the second one about its research for the development of urban planning strategies.
The research section collects references and publications for projects and workscapes. Community and personal history are a necessary part of the process which carries out design and research activities on multiple scales: from architecture to urban planning and interior design.
The website integrates different languages for different types of users: making the site accessible to students, to potential clients, to those with a passion for architecture. It is possible to read this archive on different levels depending on the purpose: projects, study, research and documentation.
